Where to Find Lists of Child Product Recalls

Child product recalls, including toys, are not uncommon. Although they can help prevent injuries and save lives, sometimes it’s too late before a recall has been issued. Tragically, too many children sustain serious injuries as a result of a defective product.

Parents, caregivers and others can be completely unaware of the dangers lurking in their children’s bedrooms and play areas, which is why it’s a good idea to know where lists of recalled products like toys can be found.

Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall List

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is a federal agency that oversees recalls on consumer products, including clothing and accessories, personal care items, and so much more. This of course, includes recalls issued on toys.

The agency provides an easy way to find recalls by searching a product or company name, or by category. Once the category ‘toys’ is selected, it provides a list.

Users on the CPSC site can also select to see recalls based on the type of hazard, such as:

  • falling;
  • strangulation;
  • drowning;

  • choking; and
  • injury.

Parents Toy Recall List

Parents features an online resource that provides a wealth of information in the form of articles, videos, recipes, craft & activity printables and tons of other helpful links. But it also provides a recall list specific to children’s products, such as toys.

A list of the most recent recalls is provided and there is also the option to input a:

  • product;

  • brand; or
  • model number.

Parents can choose from categories to find a recall (such as toys and games), along with a time period of child product recalls from the past month, six months or year.

Toys ‘R’ Us Product Recall List

Another place to find child product recalls is through Toys ‘R’ Us, Inc. Along with selling products and providing a variety of resources, such as their safety practices and helpful hints, a list of the most current product recalls is available.

Anytime a recalled product was purchased at one of its stores, parents can click on the link for information about what to do in order to return on the product or to have the problem corrected.

Kids in Danger Product Hazard Recall List

Kids in Danger is a nonprofit organization that is focused on protecting children from hazardous products. It was founded by the parents of a 16-month-old child who lost his life when a portable crib collapsed around his neck. Heartbreaking stories of other children who have lost their lives are also featured on the site.

Although Kids in Danger provides a direct link to the CPSC site, it also provides information about recalls and product hazards broken down into categories, one of which is toys.

Contact an Attorney if a Child Has Been Injured by a Defective Toy
